Those PIC's are microcontrollers, as is the 805x family, and not microprocessors. The distinction lies in that microcontrollers are complete in and of themselves, i.e. they contain the required I/O, code memory, and transient storage on-chip. Microprocessors lack some of these features, hence, often have much more in the way of register resources and, perhaps, more extensive addressing modes, richer instruction set, etc.
On this forum, discussion of AVR, ARM, PIC, etc, is not so favored. If you must discuss your PIC's, I'd suggest one of the several PIC-centric sites, or, at least, the CHAT forum rather than the 8052 forum. RE |
