While the basic principles will remain valid, I think the novice will have a hard time discerning the enduring principles from the out-dated practices - so it probably is best to simply discard this material.

if you are trying to learn abut the '51 there is no better way than a SILabs devkit.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that there is no better way - but I would certainly recommend them as a very good way!

SIlabs chips, as opposed to other '51s, have debugging capabilities built in

They are not quite unique in this - but it certainly a great feature to have!
