SiLabs Eval boards are a really good deal if you are purchasing your first one. The reason for this is because the Dev Kit comes with a power supply and the USB debug/programming dongle plus USB cable. The kits also come with a CD-ROM that has data sheets and trial copies if tool sets from vendors like Keil.

If you are ready for a 2nd or 3rd board you may want to seriously consider looking at one of these boards:

I purchased a lot of 6 of the first board to have around for quick little projects. I used the new eBay "MakeOffer" to get a nice price with reduced shipping charge since all six of the kits could come in one box. I'm currently wiring up a hand built prototype piggy-back board that mounts on top of the rows of pin headers to connect out the extra circuitry I want to add.
