Real-time transfers are actually quite common.
It's just a question of what the goal is. A data logger must normally be able to store or transfer the data in real time, since the goal is often to capture very long sequences. A device intended to capture a curve shape on the other hand, can capture a segment and then transfer the data in a separate operation. Or perform FFT of the capture data. Or - if the data is known to be a sine wave - compute the amplitude and frequency. |
