I know that ARM, or even AVR MCUs are excellent.
the 8051 has a Von Neumann architecture as quoted. this architecture can run code compiled to assembler and loaded by SD. which can not be with an AVR, even with external RAM. I like the simplicity. I like how a small ant carries more than 20 times its weight. I remember the game Prince of Persia had subtle movements, good gameplay and used less than a 360K disk and executed on a PC XT 4MHz. We are accustomed to using more and more libraries, masking the machine code in more and more layers of software, requiring more and more processing speed http://www.enog.com.br/sisae Sorry Andy, error in the copy paste.
