The user interfaces are only decent if the user has already learned what an oscilloscope is, and understands all the terminology.

How easy would your scope be to use if you didn't know what a trigger was? And how easy would it then be if the scope has two time bases? The concept of "vertical gain" can be quite frightening until you have played with a scope.

And even if you do learn all the terminology, you still have to learn exactly how you can use a scope.

If the school don't teaches practical oscilloscope use, then you will end up with people who will be affraid of using them. Same thing with a digital analyzer or an ICE. Most people needs a push to get past the threshold.
