#186813 - Almost perfectly solved with suitable bike front light Responding to: ???'s previous message |

When the oncoming car has his high-beams on, it not only makes it impossible for the cyclist to see potholes and other hazards while the car is approaching, but, even after it has passed, the cyclist is "night-blind" due to the persistence of the retina. It takes minutes for the cyclist to regain his proper vision. Almost perfectly solved by having a bike light with a "high-beam". 99%+ of car drivers do dim the light before or after they see the cyclist switch. With normal bike light, a huge percentage of car drivers either waits much too long - or don't switch at all. It's just a question of trigging that reflex action. |
