#185631 - I don't know what this guy's "issue" is ... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The fact that this guy can say what he wants is the product of "freedom of speech." However, what troubles me is that there are so many mutton-headed "bible-thumpers" out there, who can be herded about by any dog with the temperament and discipline to get them into a group. I fear that it's the simple fact that, as it has been for millenia, there are those out there who would rather allow someone else to do their thinking for them, and, therefore, believe what they're told to believe rather than figuring out for themselves.
Hopefully, I won't be around long enough to see what comes of the current trend. Right now, aside from the usual chronic bible-thumping, there's also this bunch who wants people to believe that all that's keeping the U.S. (or other) economy from flourishing is that the taxes are too high. If people aren't buying their products in such volume that they simply have to hire more bodies to do the order-taking, manufacturing, shipping, and billing, they're just trying to reduce cost and/or increase sales. Reducing my taxes might get me to buy something, but ... I've already got most of what I want. Before I'd blindly go after the tax laws with a meat axe, I'd consider euthanasia for anyone found to have an IQ below 110, or texting while driving, or driving while intoxicated ... RE |
