Excellent analysis Michael.
I might be getting a contract to install 10 clocks for another firm. So if I change the interface between clocks to ethernet and POE which will envolve more time and cost from my side, but I will have the benefit of getting the time from a time server which frees my clocks from time drift and my clocks will be more robust. And I could reuse this system for another prject I'm working on which envolves 125kHz RFID system based on POE.
