I have this idea that will be worthless if not patented. I am aware that getting a patent is not an amateur business and a professional will be required. Does anyone have any hints as to what one can do to find out if it is likely to be worth the cost. I have, of course googled with whatever keywords I could thinlk of.
Erik hi erik, if you are in europe the path is simpler as the patent applied for now covers all of europe. 1st of all, you need to find out if the idea is novel and things rarely are, someone out there will have a similar idea or product and if they are a big company, they will challenge the patent application. you can do the searches yourself and file an application to keep the cost down. As soon as the application hits the system, worldwide every patent lawyer gets a copy. The product, if you can get it to market, will be stolen if there is a market for it. Can you contest this. can you quickly make a profit from the idea and not patent it find a sympathetic patent lawyer or join an inventors club, this could keep the cost down good luck |
