LT looks great. It is 10+ USD. That is a major turn off, for a volume of 5000 units. It is possible to get the device imported, but it takes 2 weeks to get the component, and the process adds more dollars to the chip cost. A flying capacitor sampling is going to be too complicated since I will have to use some FET to sample the input. Actually, I have seen a 10 year old system using relays to sample the voltage. Pretty slow, but it actually doesn't matter much in this case. I guess I will have to go for the resistive divider method, subtracting the sum of cell voltages blow to arrive at the actual voltage. A 10 bit ADC should be able give me reasonable results, I suppose. Thanking all of you again, Raj Nambiar. |
