 		 #182005 - Measuring cell voltages of batteries
I need to measure cell voltages of 2 batteries connected in series. 12 cells. I can't use a mux, since the 'ground' of each cell is different. (If I use, then I will have to factor all the cells below a cell to arrive at the cell voltage). The idea is to monitor cells, and provide an early warning of impending cell death/decay.

1. I was thinking of using one opto per cell. Since the operating range is small (1.7 to 2.4), then I should be able to get a good linearity. This will also allow me to avoid calibration and scale up the number of batteries easily. How good is this method?

2. Is there any other way of doing this?
