Yes, I would also prefer a Pt sensor.
But note that my comment about thermistor precision and drift was in regard to a requirement of max 0.1°C error between -40°C to +100°C. If you look at the thermistors I did link in an earlier post: http://www.omega.com/ppt/pptsc...S_ELEMENTS the long-term stability gets hurt a lot at 150°C. 1.5°C after 10 months, while 100°C operating temperature gives 0.2°C after 10 months and 0.32°C after 100 months. I think the 0.1°C thermistor was rated for no more than 70°C. The majority of thermistors really do have problems with drift at higher temperatures compared to PT100/PT1000 sensors. And since the Pt sensors are so nearly linear, they are way easier to handle. |
