With an 8-bit CRC, you have only 8 bits for the polynomial.
Then you have the data processed either least significant bit first or most significant bit first. Then you may have preconditioning (start by inverting your start value, i.e. 0xff instead of 0x00 as start value). Then you may have postconditioning (invert the result). It isn't likely that any CRC also includes some secret data in an attempt to authenticate it. Most likely, the CRC-8 is well-documented. |
