#178741 - Something must be valuable Responding to: ???'s previous message |
What is valuable to your client? Is it the function that his 30 year old computer performs or the data on the tapes? I only ask because it might be cheaper to re-engineer the computer function than to re-engineer a tape backup. Where do you buy tapes from these days?
30 year old tapes are probably unreadable because the substrate of the tapes degrades. Before putting a lot of effort in, I'd check that the tapes are readable. |
