The true piezo I know looks like a capacitor. If you connect it to the output of amplifier it will take only a small current, which rises at higher the frequencies.
Because of this, it's difficult to give an actual power rating for a piezo. Often this is done indirectly, by giving the maximum output voltage a piezo can be connected to, sometimes rated in Watt @8R and @1kHz. So, the given "power rating" of a piezo is unrealistically high usually. Kai Klaas |
