#173113 - Someone who is not taking sides

As I said before this is no longer the case and has not been the case for many years. Micromint was the organization that sold the kits and its product offering no longer bears any resemblance to the articles published. It doesn't even advertise in every issue.

I challenge you to pick up or download an issue (ask CC, I am sure they will send you a free copy)and look through and find a single instance of where the product described in any article is commercially available- assembled or as a kit.

Hi Aubrey:

I have been getting CC just when Byte ended. So I have rec. it 20 years or more. Four years ago I switched from paper to pdf format. So Aubrey is right CC does not advertise in their magazine like back in the 90's. They usually never give bill of parts or even offer a parts kit from the article. The problem I have with the articles is almost all the code is written in C. Years ago most of the projects were 8051 microcontroller. Today they are 95% pic projects. And their always pic parts that are expensive. So my opinion they become pic advertisement. Their are Usb projects but they always have pic part in them. Just show I don't just read CC. Here's list of my others. Starting with Nuts and Volts, Elektor,EDN,Electronic Design,Radio Electronics,Poptronics,Computer Design,Electronics,Byte, EPE and Talking Electronics. A lot of these no longer exit, but did enjoy reading them.

Best Regards,

Ralph Sac
