We got maybe 10cm/4" powder snow the night towards monday. Since it was powder, it did result in two pile ups. Both because of the low visibility when the cars gets the snow flying. But the powder can also be quite slippery when you get the powder between the hard-packed snow and the tyres. The northern part of Sweden can normally handle quite a lot of snow without affecting the traffic too much. In the southern part, one inch could wreak havoc.

Anyway - all the new snow makes sure that the Christmas will be white and nice. A couple of years, we have had a green winter until the 22nd or 23rd or the night towards the 24th that we got the expected snow. Any snow earlier had just melted away too soon. By the way - Sweden is a bit different, since we have our celebrations on the 24th instead of the 25th.
