No, a real bike (road or MTB) do have its advantages.

But where I live, the bike season isn't so long. My MTB have Nokian Freddie's Revenge taking care of the ice, but it isn't too fun to be out when the temperature drops and the water in the bottles freezes to ice. And where I live, the city claims that it is a great city for biking, except that they somehow forgets to take care of the snow, fully prioritizing the cars.
