#171175 - ASTM
Responding to: ???'s previous message
That's why ASTM (The American Society for testing and materials) defines two key properties for its standards, repeatability - the ability of the equipment to return answers agreeing with a stated percentage of each other, for a certain confidence level, when run by the same operator, and reproducibility - the ability of two DIFFERENT instruments to produce results that agree within a stated percentage of each other etc, and with different operators too.

A well specified standard usually finds reproducibility about 2.8 times worse than repeatability
