#165761 - Advance Notice
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The PSoC3 from Cypress is based on an 8051 core. It is supposed to be released Real Soon Now (which it has been for the past 12 months at least). I have seen 2 presentations and they even had a development board. I hope it doesn't turn out like the Osborne II (for those of us who remember).

The best part is the peripheral set which is based on logic & analog blocks that are configured in RAM storage a la FPGAs. You can configure the exact peripheral set that you want and in fact dynamically change the configuration.

I have always found it great fun to work with and am itching to work with the PSoC3 and PSoC5 (an ARM Cortex implementation). The presentations promise a really great device and a nice development environment, but I am finding it very difficult holding my breath.
