#165761 - Advance Notice Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The PSoC3 from Cypress is based on an 8051 core. It is supposed to be released Real Soon Now (which it has been for the past 12 months at least). I have seen 2 presentations and they even had a development board. I hope it doesn't turn out like the Osborne II (for those of us who remember).
The best part is the peripheral set which is based on logic & analog blocks that are configured in RAM storage a la FPGAs. You can configure the exact peripheral set that you want and in fact dynamically change the configuration. I have always found it great fun to work with and am itching to work with the PSoC3 and PSoC5 (an ARM Cortex implementation). The presentations promise a really great device and a nice development environment, but I am finding it very difficult holding my breath. -Aubrey |
