#165760 - Philips? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Atmel quite overtly dumped the '51 overboard. The promised single-clocker LP line is nowhere, except 3 models. Atmel always behaved as many non-cooperating companies; and the '51 Atmel company seems to be eaten by the other Atmel companies.
NXP (ex-Philips semi) is pushing the LPC2xxx ARMs as a replacement for the '51s (at the same time, they quietly and with minimum to zero support churn out upgraded versions of the LPC9xx - the 4-digit ones). I don't remember when have I seen a matrix printer last time. PC keyboards might as well be populated by a '51 derivative - one can't see under the asphalt blob. There's most probably a vivid '51 development going on on the Far East, it's just they won't tell us and we don't understand. JW |
