I ONCE saw a wild write to an external battery backed RAM, it was due to (a) pin(s) going high on the reset which was/were low at the reset moment.

If ABSOLUTE integrity is requited (one miss in a million not allowed) the only method I know of is a supervisor killing the write permit to the memory BEFORE another supervisor kills the uC.
