One can only hope that your supplier Prolific is a Prodigy!!
In the case of many early Prolific solutions they worked OK if you got a decent Windows driver with it. More modern Prolific specific drivers from the suppier themselves are fairly decent and work quite well. I have had problems with some cell phone USB data cables being supplied with Prolific chips inside and the driver mistaking the USB phone cable as a standard COMM port. Michael Karas |
