#159299 - PC w/o COM port: alternatives to USB-RS232 adapt? |
Specifically, laptops without "real" COM ports - so fitting a PCI card is not an option.
Although I very rarely get any problems, we all know that those USB-to-RS232 adaptor thingies are not quite the same as a real COM port... So, the question is: what are the alternatives? Are the PC-Card (formerly "PCMCIA") plug-in thingies any better? What about "ExpressCard/54" ? Any other options? |
