However, we have a significant population of native-born Hispanics who (a) look just like the "illegals," and dress the same way too. Here, in Denver, Colorado, we have a population that, after the last census, was estimated to be 43% Hispanic. I don't see the native-born Hispanics doing the same things as the illegals, but what I have noted is that they hide the felonious miscreants among them, denying their presence, and giving them aid and comfort when they're challenged about the presence of a burglar or murderer in their homes.
I object to the reference to such individuals as "immigrants" because, when they seek to avoid the local law enforcement and eschew the local culture, they're invading and not immigrating. Further, as a legal immigrant, I resent their refusal to learn the language, customs, and laws. That's not "immigrant" behavior either. I've met lots of immigrants who have learned to fit the society, obey the laws, and behave in a manner consistent with the local culture. I've been shot, burglarized, mugged, assaulted, and frequently had to suffer lesser annoyances at the hands of these invaders. I'd happily endure the inconvenience of having no further contact, travel, or trade, with that land south of the border, if only it would mean that I no longer have to pay for the problems it causes.
