Put DOS on a USB memory stick and boot it directly from a USB connector. Works with most modern BIOS's that support USB boot devices!!

If your PC motherboard has one of those 2x5 headers (with pin 9 cut off) that support USB connections out to a front/rear panel with a cable like this --

-- and mount it to such motherboard header to provide direct secure booting to an OS even without a HDD.

BTW. These are readily available from Intel's authorized distributors and from Digikey.
