Remember that the nature of burning process imposes certain restrictions on the possible statistical distributions: The s(t) graph must be continuous and even strictly monotonic. Due to this the v(t) graph must be a limited function.

Very probably the v(t) graph is even continuous, because the finite size of fire spot does not allow the median of fire spot to show instantaneous speed changes.
