#148175 - my experience with Cypress
Responding to: ???'s previous message
To which I say: Fuck You, Cypress. Given a choice, I avoid their parts.

This story refer to a 'background project', normally projects do not hang around for that long here.

Before (I knew that) the Vinculum chip was available (2 msybe 3 years ago) I worked with Cypress on a USB stick to serial solution. This was based on their processor something like 67300 (I have destroyed all records of this miserable experience).

When I agreed to use their chip conditioned on them supplying the software, they asked for a non-disclose and then gave me a description and stated that the software would be ready in a month.

Well we made some prototypes and a couple of months later called Cypress and was informed that the pins used had changed. Well many other things was on the board, we tested some, made some changes and changed the pins used on the Cypress chip as well.

We again made some prototypes and a couple of months later called Cypress and was informed that the pins used had changed. Well many other things was on the board, we tested some, made some changes and changed the pins used on the Cypress chip as well.

We again made some prototypes and a couple of months later called Cypress and was informed that the pins used had changed. Well many other things was on the board, we tested some, made some changes and changed the pins used on the Cypress chip as well.

I then sent an e-mail "unless we can get a notarized document from somebody high up in Cypress, that the pins will not change again, we will not use a Cypress product"
Never got an answer, not even "can not do"
