Back during my university studies, I had a colleague who was eager to see and learn about everything very powerful - no matter what it was (OK he was not really brilliant...). Incidentally, he had an accident and he lost one eye a few years ago. We had some laser classes, and I remember the hair-raising moment when he looked eagerly into the exit window of a class 4 argon laser the teacher was about to fire up, to see the beautiful blue-green light ...
