 		 #145030 - Optical Sensing Recommendations
In our 8052 based product, I need to sense a grey line on a black background. This is an elastic head band like for goggles or something. The grey line is about .1" wide as shown below. This material will be moving at about 8 inches/sec.



I've done this a couple of times before using a OPB706A from Optek , but this sensor does not show any difference between the black and the grey. The above sensor uses IR LED, I'm thinking I need to maybe try a visible LED (red, green, or blue), possibly a pulsed laser. There's also a Color Sensor I might try. I'm currently looking through this site: http://www.taosinc.com

Any thoughts, experiences or recommendations are appreciated.
