Jan you are right about the 573 I was not thinking(need more coffee).
and I mean pin 40 vcc on the power.
and I thought it might be a 8051 but, it would have to be way newer. there is not clock going into and i see no reset circuit.
the 80c31 has an ext rom chip and I see a ext RAM chip too.
