Everyone, of any intelligence, with an app that suit a '51 will just buy it. There really is no app where a '51 can be 'pushed' onto anyone that do not have the intelligence to choose it in the first place.
Thus the marketeers totally ignore the '51 they can not 'make' a sale. As to 'selection of brand' (this is where the marketeers get involved) anyone with a intersting volume will try several suppliers and, in the end, choose on price - again no reason to 'push', you will be asked. In the 8 bit world there is a lot of 'architecture adherence' e.g. how many participants in this forum would choose a PIC or AVR if a suitable '51 was available? same for the PIG lovers and the avrfreaks. The Arm, on the other hand is an achitecture that is competing with other architectures without having developed the same faithfullness from users and thus a 'push' can make a difference. Erik |
