I think Jan was pointing at Microsoft, not at the poor bloke in IT that has to support the Micro$oft stuff...
well, there is a lot of negatives you can say about Microsoft, but when they, indeed, do provide an option to do it right (or wrong) I think it is wrong to blame them for that. Most of my beefs with Windows are in the category of "Mr. Gates knows what you want, so THAT is what we give you and no option to do otherwise". Try, for instance to do a search on *.bak in Windows Explorer, it will unchangably show the .bak in the wastebasket as well, so to delete .baks before a disk backup you need to individually click each and every one instead of just ctlA.
