As you cannot tailor them to your own needs,I think they are included in this package because people look at the blurb and think they can create some complex system simply by plugging these modules together,sadly the truth is its usualy the case that you spend a week messing a round with the macros and then deside its far easier just to write your own. Things like counters and multiplexors only take a matter of minutes to write anyway,I typicaly use ip blocks which have generic parameters attached to them so that they are very flexable.
This is why if you buy ip from a vendor it costs a lot of money as they will offer support and they will tailor the interface for you. |
