It's interesting that one seldom has any information about this dreadful inefficiency.
Now all those losses could be eliminated if folks would just switch to photovoltaics ... though that's not likely anytime soon. It's been amply demonstrated that a modest (typical for U.S. families of the 1950's) home with "all the conveniences" can be operated in the Washington, D.C. area climate with no connection to public power or fuel resources. Only sewer and water connections are required to operate a 3-bedroom 1200 square foot house complete with heating and cooling as well as electric power generation and storage. RE |
