This taught me to make all objections etc on paper
Erik, you've been around long enough to know that it won't make any difference You are right it does not make the difference of saving the time to "produce" the non-working thingy, but it can/may save your butt. Newither does it ever make you a hero to prove the boss wrong - actually ONE boss did appreciate being taught a lesson. My Most 'festive' "save by paper" was a bilingual (English and Spanish) industrial control where I "presented on paper" (2 separate memos) a) "Spanish is not one of my languages, I need a translator for the messages" and b) "the product can not be demonstrated as is" For testing the software the "Spanish" Was things like "get the finger out", "f... off", oh sh.. etc. Now a salesman 'stole' the unit and demonstrated it to a customer, he came back furious. Well 2 pieces of paper saved my butt, no - I did not get a raise instead. The funny thing was that the customer called me and thanked me for the laugh. Erik |
