Hi Andy,
thank you for the links i will have a look.

As i said in another post i already written the specifications for my protocol, and a (very primitive) version is now running.
The main problem was how to implement state machines on PC side.

I always use state machines in my firmware, but i know very little about PC programming so i didn't help my collegue about this point, and so i searched for help here.

Please keep in mind my collegue (just like me) started as "hobbyst" and he has weak points in many areas of programming science.

But i have to say that i saw a lot of "professional" PC programmers with poor knowledge of basics of programming. For example some days ago one of them ask me "What is a XOR (exclusive or)?"
