If it's not useful in some way, it just falls into that already useless category, along with video games and entertainment gadgets, of which there are already too many. What's more, if it doesn't meet some pre-established set of criteria, (requirements) it just furthers the already rampant fault in most systems that its implementation is as random as its design.

The current situation is not that creative people aren't sufficiently creative, it's that they aren't sufficiently focused. If they were focused on "useful work" it would be a different world. They're all looking for more amusement instead of accomplishment. It's very sad.
