What I mean by that is that we should restrict our comments to material germane to the SUBJECT of the thread.
Now, as for the TITLE ... we really SHOULD give our comments titles that reflect the subject. In the course of a discusison, particularly if there are conflicting opinions (and it's the opinions we're after, right?), it's not unusual that the titles reflect the tone of the discussion and not necessarily the subject. What's of concern to me is those lengthy discussions that take a turn away from the initial subject along the way, yet produce very interesting and useful information. What's the best way to keep from losing that stuff from the searchable data? RE |
