I've been a registered Republican since the '60's. Thinking back, however, I'm thinking, "Why is it that the last time I voted for a Republican President was in '68?

I've voted for Gus Hall, Shirley Chisholm, John Anderson, Ross Perot, and (twice) a Democrat, though that was really a vote against the current Commander-in-Chief.

I don't think it has been the GOP's fault that I've found their candidates unappealing, but, with the exception, maybe, of Perot, I have had to think back on Sam Rayburn, Lyndon Johnson, George-I, and now, George-II, with the thought that perhaps what I should guard against is Texans. They always seem to put their cronies first, the rest of Texas second, and the country last.
