#119073 - Fascist ? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The Nazi party was fascist, but Nazi means "National Socialist", and is really a position where the words "The nation" is substituted for "The People". Hitler himself regarded himself as a socialist, certainly in "Mein Kampf". The Italian and German fascist parties deviated from each other as the preparation for WWII began.
I haven't worked out the practical differences between "socialism" and "fascism" given that both systems have killed an awful lot of people. I can only think that the political distinction is between totalitarianism at one end and libertarianism at the other Steve |
