Because if a water heater control goes bang then you could end up with dangerously hot water.On my central heating system which is a combined domestic water heater and central heating ,the gas valve in the burner is controlled by a PID type control system with lots of fail safe systems built in so in theory at any rate you should never have the situation where the system fails with the gas valve stuck fully open. |
