#117585 - What is better for you? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Mehdi, You ask us to answer a nebulous question. What is better? Ford or GM? What I expect from a microcontroller maybe different to what you want, so which is better? In many cases most apps could use either and still work just the same. You've presented an document that outlines fors/againsts and even some of those comments can be debated. So toss a coin - you most likely won't be wrong. Personally I'd go for the AVR if it was a choice between PIC & AVR, but I've used both. The last project I did, the cumstome wanted me to use a PIC so I did. I could've used an AVR,8051,HC08,MSP430..... and the device would've worked much the same. Another project i did required a 24bit a/d - so I used a aduc834 as a micro & an adc ends up more expensive. So the point is, either the app demands a certain feature set that narrows the choice or the app doesn't care. If you gave us a detailed spec for your intended application - price, temperature, power consumption, speed, analog performance, specific hardware etc then one might be able to determine a more suitable device for your app. So what are you having for dinner tonight? |
