#115996 - It's a competetive world Responding to: ???'s previous message |
It's no wonder that serious employers hire only people who are completely equipped to do the job that needs doing today, then let them go when they're done. Why should they invest in training or equipping people who are just going to "move on?"
I happen to work in a place where the norm is having been here 5 or more years. This place treat employees in a way that makes them want to stay. I am very well paid, but could "go across the street" and make more but that would be in an environment that I would not like. The problem Richard brings up is very relevant for 'kids' that only see the size of a paycheck, but after some years for most environment becomes important. I hired a 'kid' in with abilities and he left "for money" and has informed me that he regretted doing so when he found out what his better paid job is like. I can talk management into much, but hiring people, that have left, back is not one of them. to the "kids": money is nice, but not everything Oh, why do I state this, most 'kids' do not listen.
