#115220 - rs232? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Since most RS-232 protocols are call-response (both ends of the conversation don't talk at the same time) I just made up a little board that OR's the two data signals together to a new RS-232 data line. Then send that to an old DOS laptop (or any PC) running a terminal emulator that will display hex. Less that $5. Doesn't include the control lines though.
Thanks for your response Grant. But I am not looking for rs232 protocols, but trying to use special chips to do my synchronous conversion. But as some of the members informed me this will be very differcult to do. If I do it this way I might as well omitt the Databoy datascope. Have you ever experimented with synchronous to asynchronous conversion to lcd display? Best reguards, Ralph Sack |
