I was just thinking of coming up with a project wherein the total functionality of the 8051 is tested to the core, with the more readily available peripherals viz LCD, Stepper Motor, Serial Commn, Keypad, EEPROM, RTC etc. See above Just then, i thought of developing a kind of 8051 based POS (Point of Sale) device which could be used as a data logger when on site (typically on the job) and through wich one could upload the data to the host PC at the end of the day. Have you just entirely changed the topic of your post? Have we now abandoned the "8051 total functionality tester", and started a PoS project instead? I'm not quite sure what you mean by "PoS Terminal" given the rest of your description above. To me, a "PoS Terminal" is the thing at the checkout in a shop; functions of such a thing would be: Of course, it would also have to do some sort of "audit" recording - which is a type of data logging. What exactly do you mean? |
