I thought I read about some laws that were passed in the USA to allow prosecution of PC hackers. If the definition of PC is not nailed down tightly then it might possibly apply to microcomputers. Also if payment isn't required until the code is sucessfully recovered from the micro perhaps having someone feed the code hackers some work and not paying for(or receiving)the result could be suitable punishment.
