#100282 - So many, so often, forget that design is
Responding to: ???'s previous message
RF link design is not trivial - there are a lot of issues!
So many, so often, forget that design is not the whole story. In cases like RF, Switching power, low level analog know-how is much more important than the design.
I remember a case a perfextly working PCB was modified by a person without the know-how. Including a capacitor that was previously "added" (soldered across a chip) into the PCB made it crash. A person with know-how was called in, moved a few traces and the relaid out (is that grammaitcally correct?) board worked without a glitch.

Erik

a confession: In my very young days, I saw something and stated "I can make that cheaper" (about 1/3 the price based on the parts list). It took me hundereds of hours to make it work.
