That would be good for you to do anyway, so that you can gain an understanding of the RF link performance factors you should be measuring and designing for. On the other hand, if you don't want to deal with all of this, you should look for intelligent RF modules that do all the channel coding for you and not the inexpensive RF hardware that make you design signal processing algorithms. |
